Sentencing the Menace
A despondent 3-ton John Deere tractor drives through the front doors of a hometown Savings & Loan bank in Iowa and announces publicly that the bank manager can repossess the farm, too. Go ahead. Make my day, the manager hollers,
because you ain't seen nuthin' yet. I'm going to press charges. This cold-blooded gesture on your behalf has impacted my customers. Not intimidated by these threats, the tractor revs its engine in response. Addressing his patrons, the bank manager
says, We should export the tractor and keep the grain. The next day in court, the tractor pleads guilty to three criminal charges. The judge informs the defendant it is guilty of criminal mischief, felony menacing, and driving while impaired. No, no,
the forlorn tractor moans in disapproval, I'll never be able to feed the hungry now.
