He is a Vietnam veteran, having served with the 9th Infantry Division, 2nd of the 47th Mechanized Infantry, Camp Bearcat, III Corp, 1967-68. He is past president of Veterans for Peace, John Steinbeck IV, Chapter 46, Monterey, California.
