Flower market

Sunday: June 8

All it took to restore our energy after our arrival was a hot shower and a two hour nap. In short order, we were wandering down winding Paris streets enjoying the sights. We are only a few blocks from the Seine River.

Wandering along the banks of the Seine, we were amazed at the architecture and art that make this such a unique and beautiful city.

Even the arches holding up the various bridges have a character of their own.

Along the right bank of the Seine we saw many young people on bikes or rollerblades.

Both sides of the Seine feature incredible buildings. The police station and other city buildings are found on the city island.

This is the Paris city hall. Below is the San Michel Fountain.

We concluded our first night in Paris by having dinner in the Latin Quarter, enjoying onion soup, roast chicken and chocolate mousse at an outdoor cafe.
